Exit Covent Garden Tube into the heart of London's Theatreland, around every corner you'll stumble on one of the city's famous playhouses. Left out of the station takes you into Covent Garden Piazza - this pedestrianised area is home to a menagerie of street performers who entertain passers-by. In the middle sit the striking Regency market buildings which have been converted into a warren of small shops and cafes. They’re not the only shopping opportunities though - the area is saturated with stores selling everything from clothes and shoes to tea and sports equipment. Nearby you'll find the Royal Opera House and the Transport Museum. Covent Garden Underground station gives access to the Piccadilly line only. If it's really busy Leicester Square tube is only five minutes walk west and also has access to the Northern line.
