Covent Garden's Piazza returns to its original purpose, as a food market, every Thursday from 3rd April until Christmas 2010. The Real Food Market brings fresh produce to the centre of town with over 32 different stalls including brilliant bangers from The Great British Sausage, goodies by the Polish Deli, and mushroom sandwiches from the Spore Boys, Mediterranean delights from an Italian deli... just leave room for Crumbs & Doilies' cupcakes. It's a fantastic idea, returning after popular runs for the past two years, and provides a wonderful way to spend a summer's day (even if the weather doesn't play ball you can always duck under the covered areas). Look out for special appearances from food bloggers and micro brewers, cookery demonstrations and large scale one-off events. Combining the Piazza's reputation as a centre for live classical music and food, the Real Food Market is altogether a very civilised way to go to market.
