Percival Way 2 Luton, London, LU2 9GP While the Holiday Inn Express name indicates that this is a budget hotel, you'll find little to complain about in this compact purpose-built three-star hotel. The rooms might be a little tightly-packed for your liking, but (despite the name) this isn't exactly a holiday destination and the place serves a purpose. Located under a mile from Luton Airport, the hotel offers a free shuttle bus service (although many people with little luggage opt to walk the short distance). The main draw is, of course, its proximity to the airport and the hotel is ideal for those who have an early flight but don't fancy getting a taxi from central London at 3am. This is a clean, modern and convenient formula which works well. There's a restaurant, wireless access and a cheap car park, while all rooms have triple glazing so you won't be kept up at night with the sound of roaring planes. Spittlesea Road, Luton, LU2 9NZ The second of two hotels located on the Luton Airport site, this functional 162-room Ibis is located opposite the Express by Holiday Inn and is just 600m from the airport terminal. The hotel also has five meeting rooms, a restaurant, a bar with a terrace offering light meals and snacks 24 hours, 7 days and private outdoor parking at a fee of £3 per resident. Trains from nearby Luton take you into London King's Cross in half an hour and there's a shuttle service to the airport. Western Gateway, Royal Victoria Dock, E16 1AL The Crowne Plaza Docklands is the main hotel for the giant ExCel Centre and is located just five minutes from London City Airport.
